TECHNOLOGY PLAN
Technology Plan
2009-2013
ABSTRACT:
We
believe that it is our duty to
provide service to all the people
and age groups in the community.
These services should and will
include access to current “real
time” information and resources.
The library will encourage the
public to take advantage of the
services that are provided.

COMMUNITY
ASSESSMENT:
Chatsworth is a rural community
located approximately 50 miles from
any community with a population
greater than 2500. The community is
primarily agriculture based with
some light industry. The school is a
consolidated district with a Pre-K –
4th grade building
located in Chatsworth. There is a
high incidence of low-income
populace (76% as reported on the
school report card and census
information). One of the major
employers has recently dramatically
reduced its work force and combined
two plant sites into one.
Chatsworth also has several
government housing units.

ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES:
Due to the community location,
size, and demographic make-up the
library must be an integral part of
the community. It behooves the
library Board and director to become
fully aware of all electronic medium
and to provide access to these
diverse forms of communication for
our patrons. The Library will
continue to work with the town
board, the school, the churches, the
Heritage committee and all other
organizations in a partnership of
providing the most current
technological opportunities for our
residents.
